Label TextHenry Peck designed this illustration as a Good Housekeeping magazine frontispiece. The subject—shown enjoying a leisurely summer day—also serves as an advertisement for the magazine. Peck's account book shows that he earned $35 for this illustration. The magazine cost 10 cents. Founded in 1885, Good Housekeeping featured both fiction and articles about women's domestic interests. It is one of the few 19th century women’s magazines still in existence.
