Label TextOakley's Shakespearean window designs were commissioned for the music room of Mary K. Gibson's residence "Maybrook" in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. The designs were produced into windows by the Church Glass and Decorating Company of New York.

Oakley's early illustrations elicited the comment that they were reminiscent of stained-glass window designs. Within a few years, she was designing stained-glass windows.
