Label TextRussian-born Constantin Alajalov arrived in the US in 1923 after designing murals and posters for the Soviet government. In New York, he created covrtd and cartoons for The New Yoker and The Saturday Evening Post,among many other magazines. He also worked as a muralist and teacher. His stylized drawings departed somewhat for the realistic style popular, especially in magazines, during his career.
