Label TextEdith Hinchley and her husband, an English chemist, visited the Reeses in the mid-1930s. During the visit, Mrs. Hinchley became ill and, during her convalescence, designed this bookplate as a token of gratitude for the Reese family's care. The tools of the print connoisseur are as prominent as the books. Fincken, a well-known printmaker and a member of the Print Club of Philadelphia, engraved the plate based on her design.
