The woman in yellow appears to be a personifcation of Spring, watering the April flowers.Connecticut native George Wharton Edwards was a painter, illustrator, writer, and lithographic artist. After his studies in Antwerp and Paris, he gained recognition in the 1890s, expecially for the Art Nouveau style of his posters.
