Label TextThis is the most famous poster by Gerrit Beneker, who was hired in 1918 as an Expert Aid in the United States Navy to produce illustrations for the war effort. This image sold over three million copies. After the war, he worked on various corporate programs to improve labor relations. For these projects, his subjects were designed to dignify industrial workers, an approach recognizable in this poster as well.
