Label TextThe artist's first drypoint etching, this depicts the lunch room at the Art Students League in New York, where Bacon was a student in 1918. Several figures are identified in the catalogue raisonné. In the first row, in profile, Doris Rosenthal; second row, left, Peggy Bacon; next to her, Dorothy Varian; center, with glasses, Isabel Howland; top right, Edmund Duffy, later a caricaturist for the Baltimore Sun.
