Label TextWalter Crane is best known for his early color illustrations for children's books. A close friend of William Morris, produced numerous designs for ceramic, stained glass and other decorative arts.Like Morris, he was closely associated with the Socialist movement and did much to further the cause. This patriotic souvenir, designed for the fourteenth International Christian Endeavor Convention in Boston in 1895, extols the virtues of Liberty in the American democratic system.
