Label TextWill Crawford began his career as a newspaper artist and cartoonist. His work appeared in humor magazines as will as in Scribner's, McClure's and Redbook, among others. Many of his illustrations were for books with Western American themes. An inscription on the reverse of this drawing reverse indicates that it depicts Bat Masterson.
