Label TextThis portrait of Elizabeth Siddal accentuates her thick red hair and pale skin tone. Red hair was a feature greatly admired by the Pre-Raphaelite painters. Siddal began modeling for Rossetti at the end of 1851, but she developed her own artistic skills under his tutelage.
