Label TextIn this cartoon, 22-year-old Harrison Fisher adapts his "Fisher Girl"—a glamorous type similar to the "Gibson Girl"—to a domestic setting. Published from 1871 until 1918, Puck was America's first successful humor magazine, featuring an array of cartoons and political satire related to current personalities and issues.

Fisher produced 37 covers for The Ladies' Home Journal between 1903 and 1914—the second most of any illustrator in the magazine's history—including his 1911 series of covers, "Greatest Moments in a Girl's Life," depicting courtship, marriage and motherhood.
