Label TextNew York native Kenneth Bald attended Pratt Institute and then began work on such comics as Fawcett's 'Captain Marvel', and 'Captain Midnight.' He also drew for Better Publications on titles including 'Doc Strange' and 'Fighting Yank. After return from service in World War II, he contributed to Timely and Atlas superhero strips; he also drew for humorous and romantic strips. In the late 1950s, Bald turned to newspaper comics; in 1963, he took over the 'Dr. Kildare' series. In 1971-72, Bald produced a newspaper comic version of the popular TV show 'Dark Shadows,' where he was credited as "K. Bald."
