Label TextLe Dernier Sorcier (The Last Sorcerer) is a chamber opera with music by French mezzo-soprano and composer Pauline Viardot to a French libretto by Russian author Ivan Turgenev. This print appeared in the 1898 publication Les Menus et Programmmes Illustrees, a compendium of menus and theatrical programs from the 17th century through the 19th centuries.

Louis Boutet de Monvel was known primarily as an illustrator of children's literature, which perhaps accounts for this commission for a performance featuring a magician and other fantasical creatures. The programme was designed for a special presentation of the opera at the home of its composer in 1890.
