Label TextDressed in a pink dress, straw hat, white knee socks, and Mary Janes, the girl is posed holding a bouquet, perhaps waiting for the artist to draw her portrait. Bored, her eyes scan the ceiling, and she squirms in her rigid chair. A printmaker, author, illustrator, and commercial artist, Binney achieved her greatest renown for the 1946 children's book Boppet! Please Stop It, about an energetic puppy who wants a child.
