Label TextWilliam H. Bradley's poster design - popularly called "The Twins," won him fame and other commissions. His style reflected the influence of Art Nouveau and the Arts and Crafts movement, and especially of British artist Aubrey Beardsley. The Chap-Book's publisher also was also the American publisher of The Yellow Book, a British quarterly, for which Beardsley was the art editor. The Chap-Book was one of the first “little magazines” or “dinkeys” that began publication in the late nineteenth century. Produced in smaller editions and aimed at a limited audience, these magazines specialized in avant-garde art and literature. Although small in format, the dinkeys were often finely printed and featured illustrations by progressive artists.
