Label TextA painter, book illustrator, poster artist, and printmaker of international reputation, Buhot is best known for his portrayals of Parisian street life. His prints often included borders which he called “symphonic margins,” which he described as improvisational thoughts.” This scene of Bastille Day is inscribed "June 30," as the date of France's national holiday had not yet been fixed as July 14.
