Label TextThis drawing is typical of Opper’s deft draftsmanship. Gestures and facial expressions communicate the plot, in this case apparently related to underground storage tanks. Like all cartoons, however, full enjoyment of the joke requires knowledge of the times. The rectangle cut from the boards lower right was reserved for text.
