Label TextAlthough an estimated date of c.1913 is inscribed on this drawing, the other side of this sheet appears to include studies for Milton Raison's story "Sea Moods and Sea Men," published in 1922. The 1913 estimate was likely based on the stylistic similarity to Sloan's illustrations for Ralph Bergengren's pirate stories.
