ClassificationsDRAWING
Label TextThis preliminary drawing for Found, is considered one of the earliest renderings of the composition. Despite the ‘sketchiness’ of the technique, the composition is fairly true to the final version, belying the difficulties Rossetti encountered in finishing the painting (begun 1853, unfinished). The circles at the upper and lower left corners of the drawing may indicate the roundels of the frame, which he also designed.
