Label TextUsing ordinary fluorescent tubing, mirrors, and plywood, Chul Hyun Ahn constructs a dizzying illusion that creates an infinitely deep space for contemplation, reflecting his interest in Zen Buddhism. Ahn began exploring geometry while training as a painter in his native Korea. An interest in three-dimensionality led him to incorporate some of the devices used by the 1960s Minimalists and light artists, such as the grid, basic shapes, and industrially-produced materials.
