Label TextLeonard Baskin felt a profound personal identification with American realist painter Thomas Eakins (1844–1916). Starting around 1960, Baskin produced many portraits of Eakins, some based on photographs and others invented. In this series of etchings, Baskin shows the progress of age on the painter's face.
