Label TextA Dutch engraver and painter of the early Baroque era, Hendrick Goltzius (1558 1617) was notable for his accomplished technique, as well as his original compositions. For Goltzius, as for Baskin, printmaking was an independent art form, not merely a way to reproduce a painting.
