Label TextIn the late 1970s, Donald Sultan began to make pictures with building materials—linoleum floor tiles, spackle, rubber, and tar. Having grown up in a rural setting, Sultan found the industrial landscape of Chicago, where he attended art school, to be of particular interest. This painting contains two images—one of a factory (as seen on its side) and another of hats. Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. (1861–1875)
