Label TextDaugherty was a mural painter and an abstract figurative painter influenced by art he’d seen at the Armory Show in 1913. During his early days in New York, he earned his living creating illustrations. His poster Follow the Flag is constructed in a very painterly fashion with the restless line of the flag’s stripes energizing the form.
