Label TextFanny Cornforth was model, muse, lover and housekeeper to Pre-Raphaelite painter Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Her presence in Rossetti’s life beginning in the mid-1850s may have inspired the change in his style, and more specifically the kind of female beauty he depicted. Early meticulously detailed social justice scenes such as Found are replaced with exotic fantasies such as Lady Lilith.
