Novelist Clarence Edward Mulford (1883-1956) was creator of the 20 stories featuring Hopalong Cassidy. The Orphan was made into movie in 1925 starring Tom Mix. The plot involves a man who, while searching for his parents' murderer, falls in love with a sheriff's daughter.
