Label TextMuirhead Bone was born and received his early training in Glasgow, but moved to London in 1901. There he was very much influenced by Charles Meryon and James McNeill Whistler, and Francis Seymour Haden. Bone was an active participant in the British etching revival. This view of a port on the Firth of Clyde in western Scotland shows Bone's ability to balance an intricate interplay of forms and to vary the density of lines, while preserving the readability of the whole image.Thure de Thulstrup
