Walter Iooss Jr.

An American photographer best known for his award-winning images of athletes. Walter Iooss has worked extensively for Sports Illustrated and as an in-house photographer for Atlantic Records. In 1984 he published Shooting for the Gold, a book documenting athletes preparing for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles. In 2004 he was awarded the Lucie Lifetime Achievement Award for sports photography. Iooss' photographs have been exhibited most recently at the Newseum in Washington, D.C., in a solo show titled Athlete: The Sports Illustrated Photography of Walter Iooss, and at the Annenberg Space for Photography in Los Angeles, in a show titled SPORT: Iooss & Leifer.
