Ethel Boardman Rose was an artist and fashion illustrator active in the United States and France, where she studied under J.P. Laurens at the Académie Julian. She and her husband, the painter Guy Rose (1867–1925), kept a cottage at Giverny that served as their home and studio for eight years. In 1912, Ethel and her husband returned to the United States, settling in Pasadena, California.
