David HornungAmerican painter, born 1950

David Hornung began his career at the University of Delaware where he received his undergraduate degree in art in 1973. He received his master of fine arts degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1976 and began exhibiting in Chicago and throughout the northeast. He began teaching at the Rhode Island School of Design in 1979 and has taught at Skidmore College, Parsons School of Design, Pratt Institute, and is currently the chair of the Department of Art and Art History at Adelphi University in New York. In addition to his painting practice, Hornung writes extensively on art and has served as a guest curator.
