Henry BillingsAmerican painter and illustrator, 1901–1985

Henry Billings was a painter, illustrator, muralist, and art instructor in New York City. Billings graduated from St. Paul's School in New Hampshire and studied at the Art Students League. He worked at architectural firms in New York and taught at Bard College from 1935 to 1953. He spent a great deal of time at the artists' colony in Woodstock, New York. In the 1930s he attracted attention for his large, decorative paintings based on modern mechanical elements and for his mural painting for the ladies lounge at Radio City Music Hall.
