Murton du Pont Carpenter

According to her obituary in the Wilmington News Journal, Elizabeth "Murty" Murton du Pont Carpenter graduated from the Foxcroft School and attended Sarah Lawrence. She was an avid horsewoman and member of the Vicmead Hunt Club, the Wilmington Garden Club, and the Colonial Dames of Delaware. She exhibited in juried exhibitions at the Museum in the late 1940s.
