American illustrator, 1878–1955
BiographyA painter (especially of portraits), illustrator, and stained glass artist, Ida Marion Dougherty was born in Fairport, New York, and lived much of her life in Leonia, New Jersey. She attended Mount Holyoke College (MA) in the class of 1900. She designed a class pin in 1897, which was produced by Tiffany Studios. She studied with Howard Pyle, Kenyon Cox, and Edmund Tarbell. Her stained glass is in the Pro-Cathedral of St. John, Milwaukee, and the Methodist Episcopal Church in New York City.

She married her fellow Pyle student William J. Aylward. She died in her hometown of Fairport, New York.
