Alonzo C. WebbAmerican artist and architect, 1888–1975

Trained as an architect, Webb specialized in rendering architectural imagery in prints and illustrations. Webb studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Stout Institute before entering the University of Illinois to study architecture. After working as an architect in Chicago and New York, Webb served in Europe during World War I. Demobilized in France, Webb remained there, traveling to the south before settling in Paris where he produced paintings and prints and worked for the magazine L'Illustration. In the late 1930s he moved to London, where he made his home for the rest of his life.
