Lois Kay was known as an artist, teacher, arts advocate, and gallerist. After studying at Pomona College and the Claremont Graduate Institute, Kay became deeply involved in the Delaware arts community, teaching art at A.I. DuPont Middle School and creating the Arts in Schools program. She became known as a potter and photographer, and created a body of work about Chester County's Amish community. Kay also founded and operated the Wind Bell, a consignment shop and gallery in Centreville, Delaware.
