Photographer John Willis has documented life on American Indian Reservations for two decades. Many of his photographs of the Ogalala Lakota Sioux Reservation of Pine Ridge in South Dakota (including the works in the collection of the Delaware Art Museum) are gathered in his book Views from the Reservation (2010). Willis is a photography professor at Marlboro College and a co-founder of the In-Sight Photography Project and its Exposures Cross Cultural Youth Program, a non-profit program that teaches photography to adolescents regardless of their ability to pay. His work is in the collections of major museums, including the National Gallery of Art, SF MOMA, and the George Eastman House. In 2011 he received a Guggenheim Fellowship.
