Member of the Northern Art Workers' Guild from 1897-1900; designed poster for 1898 exhibition; in 1898 and 1903; guarantor to 1898 exhibition; subscriber to 1903 exhibition; gave 2 talks as part of the Guild's annual programmes. Studied at Warrington School of Art. Specialised in producing picture books for children, sometimes working with Walter Crane's brother, Thomas ("Abroad" and "London Town"). She also illustrated "The Adventures of LIttle Manchester, or Recollections of the Royal Jubilee Exhibition" (Heywood & Son, 1887). Elected a member of the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts in 1906. In 1914, she founded the Shanklin Toy Industry Ltd on the Isle of Wight, originally funded by the "Three Arts Women's Employment Fund". A London-based member of the Design and Industries Association.
