Allyson StrafellaAmerican artist, born 1969

Allyson Strafella's drawing practice utilizes the typewriter to create abstract images. The artist received her undergraduate degree from Tufts University in 1993 and studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. She began exhibiting in the late 1980s and has received awards and grants from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, the New York Foundation for the Arts, and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. Strafella's work is included in numerous corporate and public collections such as the Delaware Art Museum, the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University, and the San Diego Museum of Art.
