Winston RoethAmerican painter, born 1945

Winston Roeth was born in Chicago in 1945 and studied at the University of Illinois, the University of New Mexico, and in London at the Royal Academy of Art in the 1960s. Roeth's practice is grounded in Minimalism, and the artist has cited the influence of minimalist artists such as Ad Reinhardt, Brice Marden, and Robert Ryman. Roeth began exhibiting in New York in the late 1970s and since then has shown in galleries and museums throughout the United States and abroad. He has collaborated with dancer and choreographer, Susan Osberg, and his work is included in the public collections of the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University and the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, among others.
