Charles Davis Mitchell

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, on May 18, 1885, Mitchell was a popular magazine illustrator by the early 1920s. He drew stylish people in elegant attire for mainstream magazines like The Saturday Evening Post, Liberty, and The Delineator. Mitchell also worked as an actor and balanced his magazine work with assignments for newspapers, including the Philadelphia Public Ledger.
