Andrew Loomis

Andrew Loomis was an illustrator known for his commercial advertisments and naturalistic style. After briefly studing at the Art Students League of New York under George Bridgman and Frank DuMond, Loomis moved to Chicago to attend the Art Institute of Chicago. He spent the rest of his career in Chicago, opening up his own studio there. In addition to a number of advertising and other illustrations, Loomis published a series of instructional art books that combined his artistic talents and real instruction with comic assides. Titles included Fun With a Pencil and Figure Drawing for All It's Worth. Loomis also taught at the American Academy of Art.
