Cyril Arthur Lewis

Born in Birmingham, England, Lewis studied at the Birmingham College of Arts and Crafts before moving to New York to continue his studies as an artist. He was president of the Brooklyn Society of Artists and of the Art League of Nassau County. He settled on Long Island in 1937 and in 1964 published a book of his pictures of the area, Historical Long Island: Paintings and Sketches.
