Norman OrrAmerican artist and craftsman, born 1949

Born outside of San Francisco, Orr was in high school when the psychedelic movement took root. Inspired by the poster art of Rick Griffin and Stanley Mouse as well as by 19th-century graphics, Orr tried his hand at poster design, eventually producing a dozen posters for rock promoter Bill Graham. These launched his 15-year career as a graphic artist in the Bay Area. He then opened his company, producing graphic art, fine wood carvings, furniture, and architectural elements.
