Marjorie OrganAmerican graphic artist and illustrator, 1886–1930, born Ireland

Marjorie Organ was one of the first female newspaper cartoonists in the United States before her marriage to the painter Robert Henri. Born in Ireland, she moved to America with her family in 1899. Starting as a teenager, she worked for the New York Journal and the New York World, creating her own comic strips, including "The Wrangle Sisters" and "Strange What a Difference a Mere Man Makes." She married Henri in 1908 and their whirlwind romance made headlines. Organ recorded her husband and his friends in deft caricatures.
