Jules-Gustave BessonFrench painter and printmaker, born 1868
Besson was a student of the French painter Gustave Moreau at the École des Beaux Arts in Paris. Early in his career, Besson was recognized for his depictions of the urban working class. In the 1920s he moved to Saigon and became director of the École d'Arts Appliqués.
