Honoré DaumierFrench painter, printmaker, and sculptor, 1808–1879

Daumier was a French printmaker, caricaturist, painter, and sculptor. His comic drawings chronicled the social and political volatility of Paris in the mid-19th century. His work appeared regularly in the magazines Le Charivari and La Caricature. Daumier was extremely influential on American artists and illustrators in the late 19th century.
