James Valerio

Born in Chicago, James Valerio received both his undergraduate and master of fine arts degrees from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Valerio is a contemporary representational painter who specializes in the photorealistic rendering of the figure, still life, and landscape. His work has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions and his paintings are included in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and the Butler Institute, among others.
