New York-based artist, James Romberger is best known for his paintings and graphic novels that depict New York's Lower East Side. He and fellow artist, Marguerita Van Cook, established a gallery, Ground Zero—named for the comic strip the two created—in the East Village in the early 1980s and showed many of the artists engaging with alternative practices during that period.
