Ken DavisAmerican sculptor, 1918–1992

Ken Davis was a self-taught artist known for his work in sculpture. He studied engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and graduated in 1941, taking a job at the DuPont Company. After studying at the Art Students League in New York, he left DuPont and decided to pursue sculpture as a career. Moving to Carrara, Italy, the marble capital of the world, was the logical next step; he and his wife lived in Carrara from 1968 to 1976. After relocating to Pennsylvania, he became known for his kinetic sculpture based upon engineering principles, incorporating marble, steel, and water or air pumps.
