Anton Refregier

Born in Russia, Refregier painted murals for the Works Progress Administration Federal Arts Project and other government sponsored commissions, including "The History of California" in the Rincon Center in San Francisco, California. Refregier moved to the United States in 1920, earning a scholarship at the Rhode Island School of Design in 1921.
